Biography

Dr. Jesús Alfonso Medrano Hermosillo is a Full-Time Research Professor at the Instituto Tecnológico de Chihuahua (TecNM). He holds a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Automatic Control from CINVESTAV.

His academic trajectory is distinguished by the integration of deep mathematical modeling (Geometric Algebra, Screw Theory) with real-world implementations in embedded hardware, robots, and power converters. He is an active member of IEEE and the Mexican Association of Robotics (AmRob).

He leads research in advanced nonlinear control, power electronics, and artificial intelligence applied to dynamic systems, with a growing international presence in high-impact journals such as Sensors, Electronics, and Robotica.

Research Lines

  • Power Electronics & Renewable Energy Neural control for DC-DC converters, SPWM modulation, DFIG control, and Solar Stations with Fuzzy MPPT.
  • Nonlinear & Fractional Control High-Order Sliding Modes, Adaptive control with diffeomorphisms, and Logistic observers.
  • Geometric Robotics Newton-Euler modeling using Geometric Algebra, Screw Theory kinematics, and Phase-Space control.
  • AI in Physical Systems Lightweight CNNs for embedded hardware, Spiking Neural Networks (SNN), and Robotic Perception.
  • Biomechatronics EMG filtering for bionic prostheses and Bioreactor control using SMC.
